Building a Strong Vocabulary

Ideally, building a strong vocabulary base should be followed up with opportunities to add equally strong layers of vocabulary as well as the skills needed to use this vocabulary more effectively.

These layers are more commonly known as “vocabulary boosts,” and the more of these vocabulary boosts you allow yourself, the more successful you’ll be.

Young children can be encouraged to give themselves regular ‘vocabulary boosts’ in fun, non-stress ways such as those found in books, games, and other vocabulary activities created for just this purpose.

School-aged children should also be encouraged to practice building and improving their vocabulary skills for better reading comprehension, writing mechanics, achieving higher grades, and for improving their communication skills.

Junior, and Senior students will find that these skills will help them to raise their scores on important assessment test such as the SATs and ACTs. This is a must-have today for students to get the scholarships, grants, and admissions to the college of their choice.

By the time these children are grown into adults and enter the workforce, they are primed for success. Promotions and career success are greatly enhanced by the solid foundation layed down from childhood.

Reaching the Pinnacle of Success
In order to reach the pinnacles of success in life you don’t have to be born knowing a ‘formula’, nor begin learning it minutes out of the womb, or give up all hope if you’re just beginning the search for the formula.

The ‘formula’ for reaching the peak heights in all that you do, begins by simply building a strong vocabulary foundation from which success can burst-forth from.

It seems unbelievable that just learning, and remembering a lot of words could be a springboard for success, but it is true. A strong vocabulary influences your life in many ways, even some you may not have been aware of before.

It makes sense that a strong understanding of the words we use in our everyday lives, and your ability to use those words effectively can only be an asset to you.

We begin learning about vocabulary as infants as we hear the people around us speaking. Soon we even learn the meaning of certain words, and that using them gets us what we want more effectively than our first communication skills of crying until our needs are figured out, and met.

The ability to use language to communicate what you want or need offers faster gratification of those needs and wants, and even infants are fast to learn this principle of effective communicating.

Boost Your Vocabulary for Success

Boosting Vocabulary for Success

Have you ever ‘marveled” at the way some people seem to be able to speak, even in large groups, seemingly without effort?

Did you ‘stumble over your tongue’ last week during presentations before the boss, only to witness your rival steal the spotlight with the clear, and concise words you struggled to find?

Do you often feel “misunderstood” in your conversations with others? Have you ever asked yourself: “What’s the secret that the ‘movers-and-shakers’ (translation: successful) among us have?”

Some would have you believe that the secret for success is being born with the “It Factor.” These folks sadly surmise, “If you’re not born with IT you’ll never have IT.”

Still others honestly believe that the secret to success is to start as early as possible. This is evidenced by the growing numbers of new parents who pre-enroll their children in top preschools, often when their child is just weeks old. The pressure placed on such young minds is surely a prescription to a generation of 10 year-olds suffering from ulcers and other gastric upsets.

This isn’t necessary though, as the ‘secret’ that those who rise to the top in school, work, and even in relationships, use to get there isn’t so much a ‘secret’ as it is an easily-mastered formula for success.
